(Mountain View, CA) – Saint Francis High School is pleased to announce Rodney Tention as head coach of the varsity boys basketball program. Over the past two decades, Coach Tention has coached in the NCAA and at the junior college and high school level.
Most recently Coach Tention served as the varsity assistant coach at Palo Alto High School following a season at Cal Poly. During the 2018-2019 season, he led the Palo Alto Vikings to the CCS Division 1 Championship and Division 3 Nor Cal Semi Final berth. In conjunction with his coaching efforts at Palo Alto High School, Tention was a coach within the Oakland Soldiers EYBL basketball organization.
"I'm thrilled to be able to support Rodney in his efforts to lead our basketball program. Having worked with him before, I know the kind of professionalism he'll bring to our program. I'm looking forward to the growth our student-athletes will gain on and off the court from his direction," said Director of Athletics Therren Wilburn.

Saint Francis is eager to begin working with Coach Tention and helping him fulfill his vision for the student-athletes in the boys basketball program.
