At Higgins Field on Monday Oct. 26, the Lancers faced off against the Valley Christian Warriors on Senior Night. Lots of students came to support their friends' ceremonies and the "pinkout" Rage Cage was the best turnout of the year for field hockey.
The starting lineup featured ten seniors and one junior. This rotation got to work early with Margaret O'Brien's '27 goal. The flashy through-the-legs assist came from Carolyn Cordoni '27, getting the scoring started in the first minute of the game.

"It was a special night, being on the different Saint Francis [field hockey] teams for the past four years and seeing the culmination of all our hard work and teamwork tonight," Cordoni said.

Later in the first quarter, Jaya Patel '27 added the second goal of the evening, the result of  an eight-minute straight offensive possession for the Lancers.

Time of possession was a frequent strength for the team, it was rare for the ball to cross midfield into defensive territory.

Forward Ava Langford '27 pushed the ball upfield for the score in the 2nd quarter. Langford and Melanie Henderson '28 were consistently offensive facilitators along the boundary.

Patel added her second goal of the night in heavy traffic of Lancers and defensive players near the goalie. This brought the score to 4-0 before halftime.

"It was crazy, I've never scored twice in one game before and it really gave me some momentum and energy for the rest of the game," Patel said.

Keeping their personnel fresh with frequent subbing, the Lancers held Valley Christian scoreless in the second half as well.

"It was crazy, I've never scored twice in one game before and it really gave me some momentum and energy for the rest of the game," Patel said.

The team holds the number two rank for the CCS playoffs and will play Gilroy High School in the Quarterfinals on Nov. 7.
