(Mountain View, CA) – Saint Francis High School is excited to announce the
appointment of Emilie Marino as our new Head Field Hockey Coach. Bringing an elite
competitive background and a deep-rooted history in the Northern California field hockey
community, Coach Emilie is set to lead the Lancers into an exciting new era.
A native of Santa Clara, Coach Emilie first established herself as one of the region's
premier field hockey talents during her high school career at Archbishop Mitty. There she
earned First Team All-CCS and First Team All-League honors, while also being named the
Blossom Valley Athletic League Junior of the Year in 2008. She also gained extensive club
experience competing with the San Jose Fly Hockey Club.
Following high school, Coach Marino attended Virginia Commonwealth University. As a
four-year standout for the Rams, she played in 56 games, earning 50 starts and becoming
the team's active goals leader and ranks in the top ten for career goals. Recognized for her
exceptional leadership qualities both on and off the turf, she was voted a two-time team
captain by her teammates and coaches. Following her time at VCU, Marino returned to the
Bay Area and coached three seasons as the assistant field hockey coach for the
Archbishop Mitty varsity squad.

community," said Athletics Director, Matt Maguire. "Her playing experience combined with
her deep understanding of the local field hockey landscape, makes her the perfect leader
for our student-athletes. We are excited for our players to meet her and get ramped up for
the season that is right around the corner."
Coach Emilie inherits a proud Lancers program and is eager to begin working with the
team."I am excited and grateful to the Saint Francis Administration for the opportunity to
join the Lancer community. I look forward to giving back to the sport that has given me so
much and helping these young women grow both on and off the field." said Coach Marino.
