JOEY BARENG HEAD GIRLS WRESTLING COACH

Saint Francis High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Joey Bareng as
the Head Coach of the Girls Wrestling program. Coach Bareng attended Moanalua High School (HI), and
then moved to California and San Francisco State University, where he studied Kinesiology.
Most recently Coach Bareng spent nine seasons as the Head Coach of Menlo College women's wrestling
program. During his time at Menlo College, Bareng coached 58 All-Americans, and won two national
championships. He was named the NAIA and WCWA Coach of the year in 2019.
"I'm looking forward to Joey's leadership in developing our Girls Wrestling program here at Saint
Francis," said Director of Athletics, Therren Wilburn. "I'm confident Joey will be a great addition to our
community.
Reflecting on his new role, Coach Bareng said, "I'm very excited to take on the role as Head Coach at
Saint Francis High School. I'm honored to be a part of the continued excellence and traditions Saint
Francis has achieved over the years and for years to come''.

Coach Bareng will be leading the Girls Wrestling program, while Coach Todd Meulman will continue to
guide the Boys Wrestling program.
