Saint Francis High School would like to thank Nicole Rose for her dedication to the Field Hockey program over the last 10 years. As a proud alumna of Saint Francis and a member of our Hall of Fame, Coach Rose leaves a legacy on our Field Hockey program that will be felt for a long time. Appointed as coach in 2016, the second coach in the program's history, she continued the growth and success started by Kathy Lincoln, and put her own stamp on what has been one of the premier Field Hockey programs in the Central Coast Section. During her career at the helm, Coach Rose and her teams finished runner up in CCS four times all while mentoring numerous athletes who went on to compete in college. 

 

Director of Athletics, Matt Maguire reflected on Coach Rose stating, "We are fortunate to have had someone who embodies Saint Francis culture as both a player and a coach leading this program for the past decade. Nicole has done more than just win games; she has upheld the standard she helped establish as a student-athlete, ensuring it will live on for future generations of Lancer Field Hockey players.

 

Former head coach and Lancer Hall of Fame member Kathy Lincoln said, "As a coach she was demanding, yet compassionate to the needs of high school athletes. She is a role model who always expected her players to play hard, play fair and never give up. As she moves forward as a new mother, I wish her the best and know she will always hold the Saint Francis field hockey program in her heart."

 

In thinking about her time with Lancer Field Hockey, Coach Rose stated, "It has been an honor to be trusted with continuing the legacy of the Lancer Field Hockey program that helped shape not just myself but hundreds of other Lancers. It was a privilege to support our girls as they developed as student-athletes and teammates, and more importantly as Lancers, with big dreams and goals, and tireless commitment to the journey. Field hockey just happened to be an incredibly fun, competitive environment to do that in. I'm grateful to have served in this role and look forward to the program's bright future."
