Five Lancers place at WCAL Tennis Tournament

A long morning weather delay did not hurt five Lancers in their quest for medals in the 2021 WCAL Tennis Tournament. The freshman/sophomore duo of Jolie Wang and Lauren Smith swept their way to the doubles Championship never dropping a set. The second doubles team featuring senior Emily Williams and junior Pramati Barath earned 3rd place with a straight set victory over a team from Mitty. Emily Tan a sophomore from Miller Jr. High was crowned the individual tournament champion with three straight set victories. She only lost 4 games all day.
Wang, Smith, and Tan all have qualified for the CCS Individual Championships. As the WCAL regular season champion the entire Lancer team will compete in next weeks CCS Team Championships.

Fun Fact: Lauren Smith's father Michael also won a WCAL Doubles title in with partner Karl Meyer while playing for the Saint Francis Lancer boys' team in 1993.
